Rice's Beach

Rice's Beach is a public ocean beach in Massachusetts, managed by the City of Beverly and located about half a mile from Beverly Cove. Summer is the warm season here. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Beverly put July highs around 80°F with lows near 60°F, and August is nearly as warm at about 79°F. June averages around 75°F and September about 72°F, making both reasonable shoulder months for a beach visit. Spring warms slowly, with May highs near 66°F, and October cools to about 61°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 37°F, lows near 18°F, and a few snowy days a month from December through March. Rain is spread fairly evenly through the year, with roughly 9 to 12 wet days in most months. For time away from the sand, the mountain biking at Lower Fungo is about 1.2 miles away and Five Bridges is about 3.4 miles off. The Main Loop Trail offers hiking about 2.9 miles away, and climbers can head to the North Shore area, roughly 4.8 miles from the beach.
