Overlook Trail is a short, easy mountain biking route in Maryland, about 0.4 miles from the community of Rolling Knolls. The trail is an out-and-back with a total length of about half a mile and a low elevation gain of 24 feet, so it works well as a quick ride or a warm-up before heading further into the network of trails around here. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.06 miles in, where the grade reaches 11 percent. Dogs are allowed on the trail as long as they are leashed. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Annapolis show May highs around 77°F and October highs around 68°F, while July averages climb to about 89°F. Several other trails sit close by. Woodland Loop is about 0.1 mile away, and the Overlook Connector and Missing Link Connector are each about 0.2 mile off. For a longer outing, Solstice Valley Trail is about 0.3 mile away.
