Twitchell Pond is a bouldering area in western Maine, about 2.3 miles from the town of Bryant Pond. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with South Wall, Dike Wall and Bastard Wall all about 1.5 miles away. The area is a bouldering destination, with 15 routes spread across the boulder style. Grades run from V1 to V10-11, with the median at V6. Green Cascade is the easiest at V1, and Project is the hardest at V10-11. Grady Jackson is listed as the first ascender of both Swamp Butt and Xhosa. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July averages from a nearby weather station in Bethel run to a high of 79°F and a low of 57°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s and 30s.
