It lives up to its name with a technical out-and-back that packs serious difficulty into less than a mile, featuring a mixed surface and steep, rocky sections that demand advanced bike handling skills. The trail is a black diamond challenge, and its demanding nature makes it a test for experienced riders on New England's notoriously technical terrain. The route is about 1.5 miles long, with a high point of 1,948 feet and a low of 1,737 feet. The total elevation gain is 533 feet, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.25 miles in, with a 10% grade. That makes it a short but intense climb for riders looking to push their limits. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Long Falls Dam show July highs around 77°F with lows near 55°F, though that station sits about 788 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler.
