Fifty is a black diamond mountain biking trail in Maine's rugged terrain, set on Regional Agency Land and rated hard. It is a short, out-and-back route of about 0.64 miles, with a total climb of 169 feet. The trail is known for its technical rock gardens, root networks and steep terrain, and it tests advanced riders with the kind of New England topography that can quickly overwhelm less skilled mountain bikers. The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest section at about 0.39 miles, where the grade reaches 8%. The high point is 1583 feet, and the low point is 1460 feet. Because the route is out and back, riders face the same obstacles twice, so precise bike handling and endurance are essential. Summer is the most comfortable season to ride. Typical July averages from the nearby Long Falls Dam weather station run to a high of 77°F and a low of 55°F, though the station sits about 420 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the trail run cooler. The T.O.A.D. and Seven Bridges Trail are just a tenth of a mile and 0.2 miles away. The Carrabassett Valley Boulders climbing area is about 3.5 miles off, and Flagstaff Lake offers lake fishing roughly 9 miles away.
