Kidder Loop Trail is a short, easy loop in northern Maine, set within the Scopan unit managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 0.4 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 51 feet, and it makes a quick stop for anyone exploring the Scopan area. The route is a loop, and the climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.11 miles in. The high point reaches 731 feet, and the trail ends at a lower elevation than it starts, with a total loss of 84 feet. The whole trip takes about half an hour. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from the nearby Presque Isle weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 56°F, while winter brings highs in the low 20s and regular snow days from December through February.
