The climb is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.12 miles from the start, where the grade reaches 33 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically July and August, when typical averages from the nearby Presque Isle weather station run from highs of 79°F to 77°F and lows in the mid-50s.
