Bernard Mountain Trail is a 2-mile moderate hike in Acadia National Park in Maine, managed by the National Park Service. The trail rises from a low point of about 150 feet to a high of 1,060 feet, with a total elevation gain of 922 feet. It is a point-to-point route, and the climb is steeper in the second half, when the trail drops back to about 943 feet at the end. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 79°F with lows near 60°F, and the station sits about 600 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. A fee is charged for the hike, and the trail is not open to bikes or horses. The trip takes about an hour, and the trailhead is within the park's network of routes. The Sluceway Trail lies about 0.4 miles away, and the Razorback Trail and Great Notch Trail are each under a mile off. Climbers can find Beech Cliff Bouldering about 1.6 miles away.
