The Port is a climbing area in Kentucky's Daniel Boone National Forest, within the Cumberland Ranger District. It sits among several other climbing spots, with Ott's Wall, Light House Crag and Buzzards Roost all about 0.1 mile away. The Ridge Trail and Pine Mesa Trail are hiking options within about 0.2 mile. The climbing here is all sport, and the routes run from about 5.10a up to 5.12c/d. The median grade is 5.12a. Among the named routes are Slow Rider at 5.10a, Chubs at 5.11c and Full Mast at 5.12c/d. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Beattyville show May highs around 75°F and September highs near 79°F, with October cooling to about 69°F. Winter is cold, with January highs around 42°F. Lago Linda Hideaway, a campground about 2.9 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
