Sheltowee Trace is a mountain biking route in Kentucky's Daniel Boone National Forest, within the London Ranger District. The climb starts at about 1,200 feet and peaks at 1,285 feet, with a total elevation gain of about 80 feet. The route is an out-and-back, about half a mile long, and it is rated hard. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from the nearby Heidelberg weather station show October highs around 69°F with lows near 44°F, while May runs similar at about 76°F by day. That station sits roughly 600 feet lower than the route's high point, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. Several other destinations lie within a few miles.
