Spleef Peak is a climbing area in the Hidden Springs Ranger District of Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois, managed by the Forest Service. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots and trails, with North Falls, The Doors and Lovely Tower all about 0.1 mile away, and Middle Falls a similar distance. The area has 14 routes, mostly sport climbing with one boulder and one top-rope option. Grades run from 5.8 up to 5.12d, with the hardest route, Cosmic Banditos, at 5.12d. The boulder route, The Garden Route, is a 5.10a. Sport climbers will find Master Marley and D-Man at 5.10a and 5.11a. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show October highs around 71°F with lows near 46°F, and May highs around 77°F. July and August average highs in the upper 80s. Redbud Campground at Bell Smith Springs is about 1.9 miles away, and North Bluff is about 0.4 mile off. For paddling, Lusk Creek is roughly 7.5 miles away.
