King Hollow is a 3.9-mile out-and-back hike in the Clear Springs Wilderness, part of the Mississippi Bluffs Ranger District of Shawnee National Forest in southern Illinois. The trail starts and ends at about 795 feet, with a total climb of 783 feet and a steepest stretch of about 13% at the 0.3-mile mark. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is natural-surfaced and open year-round. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Anna run to highs around 71°F in April and 73°F in October, while July highs average about 90°F. The trail is rated moderate, and horses are allowed. Bikes are not. Pine Hills Campground sits about 4.9 miles away for an overnight stay. Inspiration Point is 0.8 miles off, and climbers can find A: House Boulders about 1.8 miles away.
