The Taco is a climbing area in Castle Rocks State Park in Idaho, managed by State Park and Recreation. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, including Taco Cave, The Green Wall and Comp Rock - East Face, all about 0.1 mile away. The area offers a range of styles, with sport and mixed routes making up the bulk of the 13 listed. Trad routes are also present. The climbing runs from about 5.7 up to 5.11a, with some specific routes standing out: Not a Taco at 5.7, Leapin' Leaner at 5.9 in trad, and Bandito at 5.11a. Summer is the warmest stretch for a visit, with typical July and August highs around 86°F and lows in the mid-50s, based on averages from a nearby weather station in Oakley. That station sits well below the park, so temperatures up high run cooler. Fall is milder, with September highs typically near 77°F and fewer wet days.
