The #39 Connector is a short, out-and-back mountain biking route in Idaho's Hulls Gulch Reserve, managed by city land. The ride covers about 0.38 miles with a total climb of 127 feet, so it works as a quick addition to time spent exploring the reserve. The trail is rated moderate, and the steepest stretch comes within the first 0.07 miles at about 6 percent. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Boise show May highs around 72°F and October highs around 65°F, while July and August average in the low 90s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the route, so temperatures here run slightly cooler. Several other mountain biking routes lie close by. The #39A Kestrel is about 0.1 mile away and the #29 Lower Hulls Gulch is about 0.2 mile away. Climbers can head to Rocky Canyon, roughly 2.4 miles off, and anglers can reach the Boise River at about 5.4 miles.
