West Fork Skeleton Cr (Mill) is a moderate out-and-back hike in Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest, within the Fairfield Ranger District. The trail is about 4 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,608 feet, taking you from a low point of about 7,000 feet to a high of about 8,600 feet. The route is on natural surface, and it is open to both horses and bikes, so riders and pack animals can join the climb. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is open year-round. For a longer outing, the Skeleton Creek Trail lies about 1.3 miles away, and the Little Skeleton Trail is about 2.6 miles off. Baumgartner Campground, about 5.3 miles away, offers a place to stay, and paddlers can head to the South Fork Boise River, roughly 5.4 miles from the trail.
