Sharks Tooth is a short, easy hike on Bureau of Land Management land in the Challis Field Office in Idaho, about half a mile long and with a total elevation gain of about 50 feet. It's an out-and-back route that starts and ends at nearly the same point, with the high point at about 5,928 feet and the low at about 5,889 feet. The trail is natural-surface and open to both horses and bikes, so it works for riders and equestrians as well as hikers. The closest town is Challis, about 3 miles away. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Challis show July highs around 87°F with lows near 52°F, while winter highs stay in the upper 20s. Several mountain biking trails sit right around the route, including Ebb And Flow about 0.1 mile away and Skull Valley and Shark's Tooth at about 0.2 mile. For fishing, the Challis-Yankee Fork Ranger District is about 1.6 miles off.
