Sf Tincup Ck- Nf Hyde Ck is a hard hike in Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, within the Soda Springs Ranger District. The route is an out-and-back of about 21 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 1,194 feet, taking you from a low point of about 6,100 feet to a high of about 7,450 feet. The trail is on natural surface, and the Forest Service manages the land. The trail is open year-round, and the parking area is named South Fork Tincup. Bikes and horses are both allowed. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run to highs around 80°F in July and August, with lows in the low 40s. That station sits about 1,100 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures up top run cooler. Tincup Mountain is about 1.7 miles away, and the Tincup Driveway (Marshall Cyn) is about 1.8 miles away. Pine Bar campground is about 2.1 miles off, and Bear-Jacknife is about 2.1 miles away.
