North Fork Tincup is an easy hike of about 2.9 miles in the Soda Springs Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is an out-and-back with a low point of about 6,758 feet and a high of about 6,983 feet, so the climb is gentle, with a total gain of about 134 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 80°F with lows near 43°F and only about six wet days, while winter highs stay in the upper 20s. The trail is natural-surfaced and allows both horses and bikes. Several other hikes sit within a few miles, including Tincup Connector at about 1.8 miles and Rick Creek at about 2 miles. Pine Bar campground is about 4.9 miles away.
