Hobo Cedar Grove Big Loop is an easy, 1.6-mile out-and-back hike in the St. Joe Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests, managed by the Forest Service. The trail rises about 137 feet from a low point of 4,182 feet to a high of 4,370 feet, and its natural surface makes it a simple walk for a short outing. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 82°F with lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay in the low 30s. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. Bikes are allowed, and the trail is not accessible. The Hobo Cedar Grove Botanical hike starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Hobo Historical hike is about 1.3 miles off.
