Coal Creek Trail #41 is an out-and-back hike in Idaho's Coeur d'Alene River Ranger District, part of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The route climbs from about 2,280 feet to 4,733 feet, with a total elevation gain of 5,294 feet over 7 miles. The steepest stretch comes within the first quarter mile, where the grade reaches 35 percent, and the trail is rated expert. Summer is the most comfortable time to go.
