Spring Bar Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Salmon River Ranger District of the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest in Idaho, about 13 miles from Riggins. It sits along the Salmon River, where the south end of the site is shaded by fruit-bearing trees, and it serves as a popular take-out point for floaters. The campground has 18 tent campsites, and all but two of them come with a table and fire ring. There are no trailer hookups or RV dumps, so it works best for tent campers. The surrounding area offers fishing, swimming, berry picking and exploring. Summer is the warmest stretch. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Riggins show July and August highs around 90°F with only four or five wet days a month, while September cools to about 79°F with lows near 45°F. Nearby, the Van Ridge Trail and the Kelly Mountain hike are both within about 2 miles. Riggins Hot Springs lies across the river, and Shorts Bar campground is about 8 miles away.
