Palisades Creek Campground sits in Palisades Creek Canyon, within the Palisades Ranger District of Idaho's Caribou-Targhee National Forest. It is managed by the Forest Service and set back from the road by the trails of the Palisades Backcountry, which are non-motorized. ATVs and motorcycles are not allowed in the campground. The site is a base for hiking and fishing. Palisades Creek flows through the campground, and the Upper and Lower Palisades Lakes are nearby. Palisades Reservoir and the South Fork of the Ske River are within minutes. The campground has five single units and two double units, a full-time host is on site, and firewood is for sale. Vault toilets are the only amenities at the campground, and a fee is charged. The most comfortable months are June through September, when typical averages from the nearby Swan Valley weather station run from highs in the mid-70s to around 85 degrees. July and August have the fewest wet days of the year, about eight each month. Weeping Cave, a climbing area, is about half a mile away. The Little Sheep and Sheep Creek hikes are both within 3 miles. Riverside Park Campground & Day Use Area is about 4 miles off.
