Providence Canyon Outdoor Recreation Area is a 1,111-acre state park in southwest Georgia, about 7 miles from the town of Lumpkin. The land is managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lumpkin show October highs around 80°F with lows near 51°F, and April is similar at about 79°F by day and 48°F at night. Midsummer highs typically reach about 92°F. Several trails start within half a mile of the park, including the Canyon Loop Trail and the Canyons hike.
