Friendly Ranger Boulder is a bouldering area in the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area in Georgia, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing areas, with The Palisades just 0.2 miles away and Riverside Cliffs Area 0.3 miles off, so it works well as one stop in a day of exploring the surrounding crags. The area has eight bouldering routes, all rated V0-1 on the V scale, with Splitter and Tight Squeeze at V1. The routes were first ascended between October 2021 and Carter Rechsteiner's Karéte. The climbing is straightforward, with no need for a rope. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Atlanta show October highs around 75°F and April highs around 74°F, while July averages reach 90°F. A fee is charged for access.
