Bamboo Forest Area is a climbing area in Georgia's Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, managed by the National Park Service. It sits among a cluster of climbing spots, with Fairy Fountain and Mangler Area each about 0.1 mile away and The Palisades about 0.3 mile off. The area charges a fee for access. The climbing here is mostly bouldering, with 18 boulder problems and two sport routes among the 22 routes listed. Grades run from V0- to V6-7 on the V scale and from 5.6 to 5.10c on the YDS scale. Easy and Proud is a V0- boulder problem, and Spanglin and Danglin is a V6-7 boulder project. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Atlanta show October highs around 75°F with lows near 51°F, while July highs reach about 90°F. For more time on the land, Chastain Park Path Trail is about 3 miles away, and Sope Creek Trail, a mountain biking route, is about 3.6 miles off.
