Ft. Moore MTB Trail is a short, out-and-back ride on the grounds of Fort Benning, Georgia, and it sits right beside the Stowers MTB Loop, which makes it easy to pair the two for a longer outing. The route is just over 3.5 miles long, with a total climb of about 185 feet, and it starts and ends around 374 feet. The grade is gentle for most of the way, but the steepest part comes early on, at about 0.32 miles, with a 5% slope. The trail is a hard ride, and that's not just because of the small climb. It's a short distance, so the challenge lies in the tight corners, the technical sections and the pace you need to keep up for the full length. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Fort Benning show April highs around 79°F with lows near 48°F, and October highs around 80°F with lows near 51°F. Summer highs there reach the low 90s, and the station sits about 127 feet below the trail, so temperatures on the trail may run a bit cooler. The Stowers MTB Loop is just 0.1 mile away, and the Follow Me Fitness Trail is 0.6 mile off. Hikers can try the Team Trail or the Gentry Trail, both within about 3 miles.
