Black Dirt Bluff is an easy loop hike in Georgia, about 2 miles from the town of Whitesburg. The trail is roughly 2 miles long, with a total climb of about 170 feet and a total descent of the same, so it works well as a short outing or a warm-up before heading to another nearby trail. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Newnan show October highs around 75°F with lows near 49°F, and April is similar at about 75°F by day and 47°F at night. July is the hottest month, with highs around 90°F. Several other trails sit within half a mile, including River Bluff, Snake Creek and Armadillo Run. For paddling, Cedar Creek is about 5 miles away.
