Frank Gross Campground is a U.S. Forest Service campground in the North Georgia Mountains, about 2 hours north of Atlanta in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. It sits within the Blue Ridge Ranger District and the Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area, and the State Department of Natural Resources manages the land. The nearest town is Cooper Creek, about 3 miles away. The campground offers year-round recreation, including camping, fishing, picnicking and hiking. Trout fishing is a draw here, and the site's location next to Rock Creek makes it an appealing spot for anglers. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Blairsville show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 70°F, with September and October seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Nearby, the Edmonson Branch Trail and Edmonson East Trail are both within about 2 miles. Deep Hole Rec. Area is about 2.6 miles away, and the Toccoa River offers canoeing roughly 3.5 miles off.
