Silver Lake Loop is an easy, 2-mile hike on natural ground in the Wakulla Ranger District of the National Forests in Florida. The route stays level, with the high point at about 85 feet and the low at about 72 feet, and the steepest stretch is a 3% grade at roughly the 0.9-mile mark. The trail is not accessible and is managed by the Forest Service, which also notes that bikes and horses are not allowed. The most comfortable time to go is spring or fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Tallahassee show October highs around 83°F with lows near 57°F and only about six wet days, while July highs reach the low 90s with roughly 16 wet days. Several other trails sit within a few miles, including the ANF Trail 13 (Springhill Trail) and the Apalachicola National Forest Trail, both about 2.9 miles away. Moore Sandy Trail is about 4.4 miles off, and the climbing area at Broken Glass Bridge is about 6.6 miles away.
