Fanny Bay is a short, easy hike in the Osceola Ranger District of the National Forests in Florida, managed by the Forest Service. The trail is about a mile long and is an out-and-back route with almost no elevation change, so it works well as a quick outing or a stop on the way to another destination. The trail is on natural ground, and it is not open to bikes or horses. The climb is flat, with the high point at about 158 feet and the low at about 149 feet. The steepest stretch is a small rise of about 3% at roughly 0.13 miles in. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lake City show April and October highs around 79°F with lows in the mid-50s and only about seven or eight wet days a month. Summer is hotter and wetter, with July highs near 90°F and about 16 wet days. Ocean Pond Campground is about 2 miles away, and The Landing is about 3 miles away. The Us 90 Connector hike is about 3.7 miles off, and Wiggins Campground is about 6.9 miles away.
