Bradenton Beach: Coquina Beach
About
Coquina Beach is a stretch of sand on Cortez Beach, about a tenth of a mile from the town of Bradenton Beach, Florida. It is a simple beach stop, close to town and easy to fold into a day spent along the coast. The most comfortable stretch for a beach visit runs from about November through April. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show highs in the low to mid 70s °F and lows in the low 50s °F from December through March, with only six to eight wet days a month. Summer is hotter and wetter, with highs around 90 °F and rain on 16 to 17 days a month in July and August. For time off the sand, Leffis Key Foot Path and Leffis Key Trail are both about a mile away. Eagle Loop is roughly 3.5 miles off, and Emerson Point Park Trail is about 6 miles away.
