Lantern Hill is a climbing area in Connecticut, about 3.3 miles from the town of Shewville. It sits close to several hiking routes, making it an easy addition to a day spent on foot in the area. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Norwich show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 76°F, with July the warmest month at about 84°F. The Lantern Hill Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and the Woods Trail and the Narragansett Trail (Ct) are each about 0.4 miles off. Climbers looking for more rock can head to Ghost Face and Grave Yard, roughly 5 miles away.
