Yellow Trail is a short, easy loop hike in Connecticut, about 1.7 miles from East Glastonbury. The route is roughly 1.4 miles long, with a one-way climb of about 160 feet from a low point of 552 feet to a high of 729 feet. The steepest stretch comes early on, at about 0.12 miles in, with a grade of about 9 percent. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hartford run to highs around 71°F in May and 76°F in September, and the station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Kongscut Mountain Trail is just 0.3 miles away, and the Glastonbury climbing area and Terwilliger Trail are each about 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, John and Frederica Johnson Memorial Camp is about 7 miles away.
