Yellow Trail is a 1.5-mile loop hike in Connecticut, about 2 miles from the town of Buckingham. The trail is rated easy, with a total elevation gain of about 130 feet. The climb is gentle, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.4 miles in, where the grade reaches about 9 percent. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Storrs weather station show July highs around 80°F and September highs near 73°F, with lows in the 50s and 60s. The trail sits close to other outdoor spots. The Giving Boulder climbing area is about 0.4 miles away, and the Terwilliger Trail and Kongscut Mountain Trail are both within a mile. For an overnight stay, John and Frederica Johnson Memorial Camp is about 6 miles off.
