Yellow Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut's Onion Mountain area, about half a mile long and rising just 24 feet from its low point of 326 feet to a high of 378 feet. The route is flat for most of the way, with the steepest stretch at about 4% grade near the end. Bikes are not allowed on this trail. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Burlington show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while July peaks near 84°F and January highs sit in the mid-30s. The trail sits among a network of colored routes. The Blue Trail and Orange Trail both start within about a tenth of a mile, and the White Trail is about 0.3 miles away. Farther out, the East Branch Farmington River offers canoeing about 5 miles away.
