The Terwilliger Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 0.3 miles long and rising roughly 114 feet from a low point of 677 feet to a high of 801 feet. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes early on, with a 13% grade at about 0.11 miles in. The nearest town is Buckingham, about 2.3 miles away. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hartford run to highs around 71°F in May and 76°F in September, while July highs average about 85°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The hike takes about half an hour. The Giving Boulder climbing area is about 0.6 miles away, and the Blue-White Trail and Yellow Trail are each about 0.7 miles off. For an overnight stay, John and Frederica Johnson Memorial Camp is about 6.8 miles away.
