Tamarack Trail is a short, easy hike in Connecticut, about 1.1 miles from the town of Clarks Corner. The route is 0.38 miles long, with a one-way elevation gain of 35 feet, so it's a quick outing rather than a climb. The trail is a point-to-point route, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.29 miles in, where the grade reaches 12 percent. The low point is 577 feet and the high point is 624 feet. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Hampton show July highs around 80°F with lows near 60°F, while September cools to highs in the low 70s.
