Matterhorn Campground Road is a short, easy loop in the Norwood Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre and Gunnison National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. The route is about 0.28 miles long, with a total climb of 24 feet and a total descent of 52 feet. It is a low-elevation, low-effort outing, and the steepest part comes at about 0.12 miles in, with a grade of about 5%. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September, when typical averages from the nearby Silverton weather station run from highs around 70°F in June to about 75°F in July, with lows in the upper 30s.
