Maroon Creek Trail is a short ski touring route in Colorado's White River National Forest, within the Aspen Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is a short, low-elevation climb of about 0.37 miles, rising from roughly 8,926 feet to about 9,085 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.23 miles, with a grade of about 13 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Aspen show July highs around 76°F and lows near 48°F, while winter highs stay around freezing. That station sits about 900 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the route run cooler. East Maroon and the East Maroon Trail both lie about 0.3 miles away. Silver Queen Campground is about 1.2 miles off, and Maroon Lake Scenic, a lake fishing spot, is about 1.8 miles away.
