Kim's Chase is a short, easy cross-country ski route in Colorado's White River National Forest, within the Dillon Ranger District. It sits on city land and starts at about 9,050 feet, rising to about 9,062 feet over a 0.19-mile stretch. The climb is minimal, with a total gain of 10 feet and a slight loss of 12 feet, so it works well as a quick addition to a longer outing in the area. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Dillon show January highs around 31°F with lows near 1°F, while June and July run in the upper 60s to mid 70s. The station sits at nearly the same elevation as the trail, so its figures are a fair guide to conditions on the ski route. Tex's Trot, another cross-country ski route, lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Phat Loop mountain bike trail is about 0.2 mile off. Peak One Campground and Pine Cove Campground are both within a mile, making it easy to pair a ski day with an overnight stay.
