West Slabs is a rock climbing area in Colorado, about a mile from the town of Silver Plume. Summer is the most comfortable time to climb here. Typical averages from the nearby Cabin Creek weather station show July highs around 69°F with lows near 46°F, though July and August also bring the most wet days of the year. September is a little cooler, with highs around 61°F. The Silver Plume climbing area sits just 0.3 miles away, and the Georgetown climbing area is about 2.6 miles off. For a change of pace, the 7:30 mine trail offers mountain biking about a mile away. Clear Lake Campground, roughly 3.7 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
