The Stonewall is a climbing area in North Lake State Wildlife Area in southern Colorado, on land managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits close to the neighboring North Lake South climbing area. Early summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in San Luis run from a high of 79°F and a low of 41°F in June to 74°F and 39°F in September. That station sits nearly 1,000 feet below the crag, so temperatures at the rock run cooler. North Lake South is just 0.2 miles away for more climbing. Paddlers can reach the North Fork Purgatoire River about 1.8 miles off. For overnight stays, Monument Lake Resort & Campground is about 2.4 miles away and Purgatoire Campground about 3.5 miles away.
