South Face is a climbing area in the South Platte Ranger District of the Pike and San Isabel National Forests in Colorado, managed by the Forest Service. It sits close to several other climbing areas, making it an easy addition to a day spent on the rock. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Roxborough run from highs around 79°F in June to about 77°F in September, with lows in the upper 40s and 50s. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the face, so temperatures up high run a little cooler. North Face, Java Dome and Bali Dome all lie about 0.1 mile away. Osprey Campground, about 2.3 miles off, offers a place to stay.
