Ship's Prow is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Tres Rios Field Office, about 2.5 miles from Durango, Colorado. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to climb here. Typical averages from the Durango weather station run near 71°F highs and 37°F lows in May and 76°F highs and 44°F lows in September, while July and August bring more wet days. That station sits roughly 920 feet below the crag, so temperatures at the rock run cooler than those figures suggest. The neighboring climbing area Square 1 is just 0.1 mile away, and Moria lies about 0.6 mile off. Hikers can reach Animas Mountain Upper at 0.2 mile, and Junction Creek Campground, about 2.2 miles away, offers a nearby place to stay.
