Roadside Boulder is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land in Colorado, within the Tres Rios Field Office and a few miles from Durango. September is one of the more comfortable months to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Durango weather station run to highs around 76°F and lows near 44°F then, while July and August bring more wet days. The boulder sits about a tenth of a mile from two other climbing areas, West Block and Big East Block, so it is easy to combine with them in one outing. Log Chutes 1 Trail, a mountain biking route, is about 0.6 miles away. Junction Creek Campground, about 1.8 miles off, is the closest place to camp.
