The Mothership is a climbing area in Colorado on city-managed land within the Bergheim - Wood unit, about a mile and a half from Boulder. It sits among a cluster of bouldering spots, with several other problems within a short walk. Early fall is the most comfortable time to climb. Typical averages from a nearby Boulder weather station show September highs around 79°F and October highs around 66°F. That station sits nearly 1,000 feet lower, so temperatures at the boulders run cooler. BBC Boulder, Satellite Boulders and Girlfriend Boulder are each about 0.1 mile away, so it's easy to link several areas in one session. For a hike before or after climbing, the Bluebell Spur Trail starts about 0.3 mile away.
