Kahuna Boulder is a bouldering area on county land within the Carter Lake unit in Colorado, about 7 miles from the town of Carter Lake. It sits among a cluster of other bouldering spots, with Little Debbie's Boulder, Monster Block and Extension Boulder all about 0.1 mile away. The climbing here is all bouldering, with 10 routes spread across the area. The grades run from V2+ up to V11-, with Kahuna Roof at V6 and Speed Trap at V11- as two of the more notable climbs. The boulders are close together, so it's easy to move from one to another in a single visit. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from the nearby Waterdale weather station show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 76°F, while July averages climb to about 87°F. The Sundance Trail is about 2 miles away for a hike, and the Big Thompson River offers paddling roughly 4 miles off.
