The Island, also known as the Left side of Cabin Wall, is a climbing area in Escalante State Wildlife Area in western Colorado, managed by State Fish and Wildlife. It sits about 0.2 miles from the Cabin Wall climbing area and the Pot Holes Area, making it an easy addition to a day spent exploring the cluster of boulders and walls around Escalante. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Delta show May highs around 76°F and October highs around 68°F, while July averages climb to about 93°F and January highs sit near 40°F. Escalante Creek and Escalante Canyon are both about 1.1 miles away. Farther out, the BLM 052/053 (McCarty Trail) is about 6 miles off, and the Dominguez Rim Trail is about 7.1 miles away.
