Chiefshead is a climbing area in Rocky Mountain National Park, within the Rocky Mountain National Park Wilderness, on land managed by the National Park Service. It sits inside the park's wilderness boundary, so it is a backcountry destination rather than a developed recreation site. A fee is charged for visits here, according to the National Park Service. The climbing area is divided into two main faces. Chiefshead Northwest Face is about 0.1 mile away, and Chiefshead South Face is about 0.3 mile away. For a change from the rock, Thunder Lake Trail and the Box-Eagle Lakes Route are both about 2 miles off. Glacier Basin Campground, about 6 miles away, is the closest place to camp.
