Bentonite Mine is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Grand Junction Field Office in western Colorado. It sits among a cluster of trails and climbing spots, with the Second Thoughts Trail about 0.2 miles away and the Twist-N-Shout Trail about 0.4 miles away. The area is a bouldering destination, with seven routes listed, all of them bouldering. The grades run from V0 to V3-4, with the hardest being Gaston Till You Moan. The easiest are Flip Flop Arete and Spyro, both V0, and the V2 routes include Knubbin' and Orangutan Arms. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 74°F and October highs around 66°F, while July averages about 93°F and January highs sit near 39°F. Other climbing is close by, with The Roost about a mile away and Devil's Kitchen about 1.8 miles away. For an overnight stay, The Camp campground is about 4.4 miles away.
